There are a continuous number of different ways to collect needs assessments, which Edvance Research has conducted for various clients. As REL Southwest at Edvance Research, the needs assessing activities identified key areas by first establishing a baseline by which to measure the education needs for the REL Southwest region.
Establishing A Baseline (2008)
REL Southwest conducted this quantitative, needs sensing market research study, How Customers Can Maximize Use of REL Southwest: Establishing a Baseline for REL Southwest Performance to measure awareness levels and education research needs of the diverse constituents in the Southwest region comprised of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. This baseline would be used to measure REL Southwest’s performance in meeting the identified needs over the remaining years of the REL contract.
Identifying Customer’s Needs (2008)
REL Southwest conducted this quantitative needs sensing market research study, What’s in a Need? Identifying Customers’ Needs to Help Improve Student Outcomes, to identify accurately the unique and common education research needs of the diverse constituents in the Southwest region comprised of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
REL Southwest Analytic Needs Assessment (2011)
REL Southwest determined three high-priority education needs based on a review of requests from regional constituents, State Education Agency initiatives, legislative priorities for education, student performance data, and by conducting extensive conversations with the REL Southwest Governing Board to understand the needs of the constituencies they represent.
