Edvance Research Authors U.S. Education Guide on Evaluating Online Learning
San Antonio – The Office of Innovation and Improvement (OII),
under the U.S. Department of Education released the latest guide in its “Innovations
in Education” series: Evaluating Online Learning: Challenges
and Strategies for Success. Edvance Research, a San Antonio education
research firm, authored this guide in partnership with WestEd.
This publication highlights seven evaluations that address a broad spectrum of online
learning options, from programs that provide online courses to web sites that feature
education resources. These evaluations help to hold programs accountable for
results and can assist schools in identifying whether online programs and resources
are performing as promised.
This guide was developed as a resource for evaluators, whether external, third-party
researchers, or program administrators and other staff who are considering conducting
their own internal evaluation and includes:
