Project Management is a critical element in delivering a successful, robust product. We incorporate a clear project management process into each research project we undertake to ensure that studies are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and with a high degree of quality. Our Project Management Office has handled numerous projects ranging in scope from small-scale to large complex projects involving multi-tiered processes, fast-track timelines, and multi-million dollar budgets. In order to ensure a level of quality that is expected of our clients, we developed a number of work flow processes, templates, databases and documents that ensure that all deliverables are in compliance with research requirements and standards. Our project management efficiency model defines each project team member’s specific responsibilities, activities, and timelines for completion. Edvance’s project management methods include:
- Project scheduling. We create dynamic study schedules that define and track all major deliverables and milestones, tasks and subtasks, start dates and due dates for the completion of taskswhile monitoring schedule variances, and the project’s critical path.
- Resource planning and budgeting. Our team’s experience in conducting rigorous research allows us to formulate accurate resource staffing and budgeting plans for every study. We break down each project into functional activities and monitor all program expenditures and use of program personnel to ensure that it is completed in a well-organized, cost-effective manner.
- Communications. Edvance uses program status reports, conference calls, face-to-face meetings, and web-based work portals to guarantee that there is effective and timely communication between research team members and project managers.
- Risk management. We implement thorough and effective risk mitigation strategies that include an early detection of potential program risks, such as missed internal deadlines or budget overruns. These risks are addressed quickly to ensure high quality, timely study results.
- Reporting. Our team distributes on a consistent basis an array of standard reports as well as custom reports to members of the study team and clients to keep them abreast of all aspects of the study.
- Quality assurance. Edvance establishes specific review points within a study to monitor and control quality throughout the process. Those reviews guarantee that subsequent phases of the project do not proceed unless the work in the previous phase is of sufficient quality.
Our bottom line for project management is to create detailed plans for delivering the study, control resources and costs, keep everyone in the project informed, avoid or minimize challenges, closely monitor the study from multiple perspectives, and deliver a high-quality product.
