Convening Events

Edvance Research has vast experience in successfully convening events which demonstrates our organization’s thorough understanding of the design, planning and execution of events to effectively engage and provide exceptional value to participants.  While the audiences may vary, the foundation for excellence is embedded in our approach to event management.

Edvance has provided leadership in the following event initiatives:

State Consortia:  Edvance has been a leader in the establishment of state research consortia.  These consortia facilitate collaboration among districts and research partners to conduct research focused on common problems of practice and provide a community of practice that allows districts to learn from each other. With the recent national focus on education reform, education leaders and researchers are anxious to understand data and find the most effective methods to utilize this knowledge in their daily work.  Events have included multiple face-to-face forums, as well as online events.  Edvance manages state consortia in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Statewide Tools for Teaching Excellence, a Michael & Susan Dell initiative: The STTE project is designed to demonstrate the effectiveness of using a system of performance management indicators to identify opportunities for improvement, select appropriate interventions and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the interventions.  Seven Texas districts have participated in the initiative and ten events have been convened to facilitate district collaboration.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA), Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) Annual Conference:  This annual conference brings together the Texas 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grantees and Center staff to provide a forum for professional development and networking for ACE peers.  Edvance managed the ACE 2009, 2010 and 2011 conferences, and is looking forward to the 2012 conference in San Antonio, Texas.
