Who Are We?

  • REL Southwest at Edvance Research is one of ten educational laboratories in the Regional Educational Laboratory Network (REL Network), under the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education.
  • The REL Southwest landscape is a broad and diverse region that ranges from large metroplexes to vast rural areas and encompasses the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, including:

  • Assists States and Districts in developing the capacity to analyze and apply data to improve student outcomes 
  • Facilitates the use of research by policymakers, education administrators, educators, parents and business leaders by providing relevant and practical information for evidence-based decision making.
  • Provides expertise on the use of longitudinal databases for research inquiries.
